Obama's Poignant Response To Charlottesville Just Broke A Twitter Record

Following last week's violence at a White nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va., former president Barack Obama shared a poignant response on Twitter, choosing to quote former South African president Nelson Mandela.

The message clearly resonated with many who were reeling over the hate they had witnessed. In fact, the first of Obama's thread of three tweets, which featured a photograph of the former president smiling at a group of children in a window, has broken a Twitter record to become the most-liked tweet in history.
