1000 ghostly silhouettes to protest against the G20 summit

Hundreds of ghostly silhouettes strolled the streets of Hamburg to protest against the G20 summit, an impressive performance created by 1000 Gestalten. On July 5, 2017, the German collective gathered 1000 people completely covered with gray, symbolizing the concrete, but also the gloominess of a society that has lost all sense of solidarity.

The crusted figures are supposed to stand for a society that has lost faith in solidarity and in which the individual struggles only for his own advance. In the course of the performance, they took off their gray costumes, including their colorful T-shirts. In this way they liberated themselves symbolically from their rigid structures.
