Jimmy Fallon Gave A Heartfelt Speech To Marjory Stoneman Douglas Graduates

Published : 6/4/2018

On Sunday, students graduating from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, received a surprise from Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, who delivered a heartfelt commencement speech.

In February, 17 people died in a shooting at the school, and the young survivors launched a movement against gun violence.

Fallon, along with the graduates, wore a stole which read "MSD Strong." During his speech, the host combined his signature humor with some inspiring words and praise for the students' response to the tragedy.

"Today you are graduating from high school. You should feel incredibly proud of yourselves," Fallon told students. "That doesn't mean you should rest on your laurels — or your yannys."

"When something feels hard, remember that it gets better," Fallon reminded the class. "Choose to move forward. Don't let anything stop you."
